Just wanted to thank all those who responded with tips on tank growing of
CP's - it seems that we are having success with a wide variety of growing
techniques. I use my aquarium primarily as a water tray, not a terrarium;
there is no top on the tank, and I have it in my greenhouse with a couple of
inches of standing water inside. My greenhouse can be on the dry side, and
I feel that the tank walls help keep the humidity up around the plants.
They look great, and the Sarracenias are flowering nicely - but I think I
will eventually try one of the methods suggested for keeping the water more
clear.

P.S. to MZenner in PDX - as far as I know, the USDA is primarily looking for
agricultural fruits and veggies that may harbor fruit flies, apple maggots,
etc. When moving from Astoria to Arcata a few years ago, I took lots o'
houseplants with me and was never hassled. Didn't have any CP's at the
time, however. Best of luck!

Bye for now,
