I managed to keep a couple of plants alive for about a year but I
couldn't tell if they were growing well or not (obviously not :))
>In the mountains here it grows in beds metres across in gravelly
>stream beds, often with Utricularia monanthos and Caltha
>introloba. Snow clears it in November, but its roots never get
>above freezing point (melt water). It flowers in midsummer
>(January) and is one of the ugliest plants I know!
Where is "in the mountains here"? Also, how long do the leaves
get on this species?
>Seed has been available commercially which means either that
>someone can grow it, or someone is being naughty. {I assume
>it's protected in NZ as well as Australia}
I didn't realize that it was protected in Australia.
Cheers
