The Ping. in question is almost certainly P. cearulea (spelling?, don't have
text handy). I am not currently growing it but remember it being a bit easier
than P. lutea, and taking much the same conditions. Both species occur in our
county (Volusia) but are rarely seen now due to development and the practice
of herbicide use on roadsides.
