Sarracenia Seeds

While we're on the subject of Sarracenia seeds, I was wondering if it is
possible for a plant to produce non-fertile seeds? I have a S. rubra that
produced some seeds last year, but I haven't had any luck getting them to
germinate. They were pretty "fresh" when I planted them in peat moss in
February this year. I've kept the soil moist and no mold has developed.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Caleb
