The first statement is correct but it is neither a good reason for the
second nor is the second true. Droseraceae and Lentibulariaceae are both cp
families but they are *not* closely related to each other nor do they have
similar phylogenies, chorology or whatsoever. As far as it is evident from
the geological and biological data, there was no "central distribution
point" for all cps.
