if your bugs are spring tails you need do nothing as they are harmless to
your plants, living in and on the soil feeding on decaying matter. if thrips
are the problem thats a little bit more of a problems, for years i have used
a dilute solution of diazinon " 1/4 to 1/8 strenght"for my pest problems with
little or no problems flytraps , at least in my conditions tolerated this
treatment very well. just remember keep it dilute. you could also try just
submerging the plant for two or three days this will usually wipe out all but
the most tolerant beasts. also if you spray your plants don't do it on a hot
sunny day as diazinon will burn if used under these conditions.
water, if your collection is still small, I have had very good result with
water from the .25cent a gallon machines at stores, if your collection has
gotten to large for this to be practical your best bet is to invest in
a reverse osmosis unit.
hope this helps , all the best
