Taste it if you are feeling brave - just a small bit should tell you
if it is salt or not.

>So I don't know what to do. Is distilled water okay?

distilled water should be ok though it tends to get very expensive if
you have a reasonable collection.

>Do I need to transplant my VFT to new soil?

No. Just flush out the salt by watering with normal tap water - don't
let the plant sit in this water just water it from the top a few times
and let the water drain out. Once you have done this then start with
the distilled water.

In time, kill it. I have had mine survive this sort of abuse for a
while so I do not think you have any immediate danger but you should
work on getting rid of the salt in the soil.
