Last weekend I was at my parents' house, which happens to be located on
a lake. I was down the row of cottages fishing off of a neighbors dock
(into a weedbed). After unsuccessfully catching anything, I started to
reel my line back. On the hook was what I though was the usual weed
(Camoba?), but to my GREAT surprise it was a Utric. The depth that area
is ~15 feet deep and has a strong growing weedbed composed of the
above-mentioned and another genus that I forget. The weeds reach the
surface (where they are now in flower) and must do one of two things,
provide a habitat for the Utric, of most likely catch floating plants
that have been disturbed at another part of the lake. One section of
shore has a large Typha bed intermingled with other semi-aquatics and
emergents.

I've reeled in several more plants since then andam attempting to cultivate
them in their garden pond, and under lights with my other CP.
