Propogating N. rokko from cutting.

Fellow growers,

I fear I may have done something wrong, and I'm wondering if I can fix it
before I lose my cutting. I ask your advice.

I have a large terarrium in which I have a Nepenthes rokko cutting from CC.
It took off in a growing spree last fall and within months was about 4
feet long and getting pretty crowded at the top. It was 10 leaves in
length, so I decided the nice thing to to would be to make a cutting and
give both halves more room. I cut the plant with a razor blade just above
a leaf, but below the little nipply thing on the stem. (I'm not certian if
that's the right latin term, but you know what I mean) Then I dipped the
cut end in #2 rooting hormone and potted it in a 1:1:1 mix of sterilized
sand, pure peat, and orchid bark. It's in a free draining hanging basket,
still in the same terrarium. It gets regular watering and misting in a
constant high humidity environment. This was about 3 weeks ago.

The origional plant hasn't slowed at all, it is growing from a fork in the
stem right at the soil level and is firing out pitchers the size of large
bananas. The cutting slowly began to troop, the leaves folding downwards
and looking unhappy, but still green. Now the lowest of the leaves is
actually dieing, and the rest of the cutting seems a bit worse off day bay
day. I've seen no new growth at all. Should I be putting something
special in the compost? Reducing light?

By the way, regarding th problems with my VFTs that I asked about a while
back, they seemed to really love being re-potted in sand:peat and are
growing new healthy leaves fast and furious now. Thanks for the advice!

Oh, one other thing. At the bottom of the terarrium, I have a large tray
of moist spaghnum with my droseras. The rotundifolias are bright, large
and happy but the capensis plants are slowly withering. I thought they
were comparatively invincable. Any guess what may be going on here?
