Many Mexican Pinguicula display succulent characteristics,
chiefly in their winter rosettes composed of thick fleshy
non carnivorous leaves. Some of these can be found growing
along side cacti.

Regarding hairy CPs a friend of mine came to see me over the
weekend and brought his P.colimensis plant in flower for me
to see. Although this plant was forming summer leaves the
partialy burried winter rosette could still be seen
including the hairs surrounding it. These hairs gave the
rosette a 'woolly' appearance. I have heard that woolly
cacti come from higher altitudes where the wool serves as
insulation against cold spells. Could the wool on
P.colimensis be serving a similar purpose to this?
