Carl, "digest" is a mode of mailing list operation. Most people
on the CP list find it convenient to recieve each posting as an
individual email. This isn't the case for everyone and so the
machine that manages the list offers "digest mode". Rather than
forwarding each email to you it will send you one email at fixed
intervals (usually daily) that contain all of the postings made
since the last batch it sent you. You can set your list to digest
mode by sending email to listproc@opus.hpl.hp.com -- note that
this is *not* the same address you use when posting to the group.
In the body of the message, say "set CP mode digest".
You can find out more about digest mode and other list stuff
(like getting archives) by sending email to
listproc@opus.hpl.hp.com and include in the body "help me".
