Recently there has been some discussion on the list about peatlands,
sphagnum, etc. There is a very interesting article in the July '95 issue
of TREE on the role of sphagnum in bog formation and the competitive
interactions between sphagnum and vascular plants. Makes me have even more
respect for this remarkable plant.
