Just looking at the Hygrometer bit of my barometer (I doubt it's very
accurate) the reading is 53%. I imagine this is pretty average for
the UK. The Nepenthes is currently spending the night in the
greenhouse, and most of the day in the house (avoiding the hot sun in
the greenhouse). I'm spraying it regularly. The latest new pitcher is
over 6 inches (150 mm) from base to tip of lid - I'm certainly
impressed by it, as it's considerably larger than any of the ones it
had when I bought it. When I first bought the plant, I kept it in the
bathroom, and maintained very high humidity, but eventually thought
I'd stop letting this plant dominate conditions in the house! I guess
if it showed any sign of stress, then I'd go back to the special
treatment.

As for Peter Cole's N. alata cutting: from 3 to 11 leaves with *no
roots* seems pretty impressive to me! If mine continue to thrive,
then I'll have to think of taking cuttings - not for a while yet
though.
