Janice, I was successful in self-pollinating one of my VFT's this
spring, too. The seeds are indeed small, black, and pear shaped. I
sowed mine on standard VFT compost (two parts peat, one part sand), kept
them moist and in good light, and had seedling in about a week or ten
days. The first couple of leaves didn't bear traps, but subsequent
leaves did produce tiny little traps. Rather cute, really. Happy
sowing!
