Tracie: I use distilled white vinegar as instructed in the book 'Gardening
Indoors', with no adverse affect on my plants (including orchids). Add
approx 1 tsp. per gallon for every pH point you wish to lower the pH. One
can certainly use more potent, and dangerous acids, but distilled white
vinegar is cheap, easy, and safe. There has been some discussion on lowering
pH before, so please peruse the archives for more details..
