I wonder if Becky's friend had a type of allergic reaction? While we all
know of poison oak/ivy/sumac, several friends experience blistering
reactions after contact with tomato plants.
By the way, watch your feet too. Yesterday AM, I went to the garden on
my way to work. As I was walking to the truck I noticed the leaves move at
my feet. Not wanting to step on a toad, I moved back. Still seeing
nothing I stepped back further and focused on our local viper, Agkistrodon
contortrix (the copperhead). Fortunately the snake was quite calm as I
stepped over, rather than on it and it was quickly dispatched with a
hoe.................................................................into a
bucket. As I have outdoor dogs, it now resides happily (I hope) in a local
wildlife area far from the house.
