Private Life--the book

Hi all,
I must confess that I haven't been reading the
postings about Attenborough's The Private Life of Plants,
since I don't have cable TV and it hasn't appeared on my
local PBS channel. But, I happened upon the book this
past weekend and bought it.

Has there been any discussion about the book? It's
pretty good--I've gotten half way through it already and have
found some fascinating tidbits of information. There's a
decent portion dedicated to carnivorous plants, with some
good photos.

A few days ago I was at a friend's place, and he
has cable TV. I was flipping through the channels and stopped
when I saw some excellent time-lapse photography of opening
flowers. The show turned out to be one of the episodes of
The Private Life... Too bad I couldn't see the whole thing,
and having my friend tape it for me would't help. I don't
have a VCR, either :-(

One thing occurred to me after reading the section
on carnivorous plants. If these plants, that we subscribers
love so much, get this sort of widespread and graphic public
exposure then I predict the market for them will grow
dramatically. So, the folks at California Carnivores, Botanique,
Orgell's, etc. had better start gearing up their production!
