Can someone tell me if a night temperature of about 57F is too
low for Nepenthes gracilis seedlings that are about 7 months
old. A few seedlings have lost some of their leaves. In response
I've decreased the moisture of the growing medium slightly and
the situation seems to have stabilized for the moment (the
newest leaf of these seedlings is still alive). However this
condition has only occured with a few of my N. gracilis
seedlings. Maybee this is an early warning sign.
REply:
Robert, N.gracilis is a low-land plant and it likes heat. Gracilis
is fairly weedy but it could be harmed by temperture that low. I
don't even let my high-land Neps get that cool.
