Well, I am glad that the Phototron has generated so much discussion!
Since I am the one who started this interesting line of talk, I
would like to respond to some of the fascinating responses.

First, with respect to the DEA. during the late 80's, the Department
of Energy spent several hundreds of thousands of dollars on AI
programs that would predict peak power needs and to detect crack
makers. You see, one way to make crack is with a microwave. Thus, if
your household was using an inordinate amount of power, then a
overzealous judge would issue a search warrant. So, we all, being
growers of exotic plants (i.e., metal halide lights, humidifiers,
etc...) are a pretty suspicious group to the DEA. Best not spend your
energy fretting about this one.

Second, with respect to Pyraponic Industries and the Dope industry.
It is true that Pyraponic Industries advertises in High Times (a
popular marijuana magazine), but they also advertise in Horticulture
(a premier horticulture magazine). They also have contracts with Nasa
and various Universities (Syracuse, my alma mater, being one of them).
So, I wouldn't go condeming them because of who they advertise to.

Finally, on this dope issue, marijuana growers are some of the finest
hydroponic agriculturists in the world. I recently bought a book from
Barnes and Noble entitled "Marijuana Growers Guide." No, I didn't buy
it because I am a dope grower. I did, however, buy it because it is
one of the best books I have seen in a long time on organic farming.

Thus, y'all shouldn't care who is giving you tips on how to grow kick
butt plants, you should just focus on the tips.

Third and last, I admit that the Phototron is small. You can grow
three plants each in a one gallon container and raise three seedlings
in small pots. This is _not_ alot. It is certainly no greenhouse.
But, if you are like me, I blew $300.00 in plants and materials and
was totally unsucessful. I decided to drop the dough and take a
chance that I would be wildly successful and never have to spend
another red cent in terrariums that weren't big enough or lights that
weren't powerful enough. It worked.

Good Growing,

Chris "The Dope Man" Creel
