Juerg,

Growing plants here in the desert I have many on an artificial seasonal
arrangement. The P.vallisneriifolia is kept chilled during the northern
hemisphere summer, and is allowed to grow only during the winter. This way
they have a cool (and not very hot) growing season followed by a very cold
season.

My greatest success in this way is Darlingtonia which is now three years
old from seed.
