i found the idea of diatomaceous earth an interesting way to control
insect populations in the garden.
i do have two questions however....
1. how much is needed to be effective?
2. will it hurt the roots or root hairs, etc?

i take it that the diatomaceous earth acts as a scraping device on the
outer layer of the insects and causes them to dehydrate?

thanks for the ideas
