Presumably these are LD50 figures? (Dosage required to give a
50:50 chance of survival). Nicotine is most certainly a serious
poison but exactly how toxic? Most of the figures given for
toxicity are based on an extrapolation of the toxicity to rats or
rabbits, i.e. man is an 80kg rat to all intents and purposes (:->).
How accurate the relationship is, is not specified (surprise:-))

However, there is a third possibility for getting the pesticide
into the body - through the skin. Users of this pesticide (and
any of the other so called 'safe' pesticides) should use suitable
rubber gloves, make sure they are thoroughly washed afterwards and
are not used for any other purposes as pesticides do penetrate the
rubber. Preferably, use once and throw away. If any splashes in your
eyes, seek medical attention.
