My wife and I are planning to vacation in Florida sometime in April,
down in the St. Petersburg area, and I wanted to check and see if
there was anything CP related going on. I know the Tampa Botanical
Garden (which had a fantastic small display of sarracenias, some
droseras and vfts, and U. inflata in a pond last year) has their show
and sale sometime around then, but I'm not sure when exactly.
I'd really be interested in anything, since my collection was sorely
depleted by a combination of drought, neglect, and a whitefly
invasion which necessitated getting rid of almost everything that
hadn't been killed by the first two problems.
Just to add my 2 cents to the whitefly discussion: my lone (and
sorely abused) D. capensis here on the windowsill at work is
suffering from a double attack of whiteflies and aphids. Not only has
it survived, but, after two months of shrunken, deformed leaves,
seems to actually be overcoming the attack. Either the pests are
weakening, or the legendary toughness of the Cape Sundew has
given it time to put up defenses.
