Purple Pitcher Plant & VFT

Hello,
If anyone has a"Purple Pitcher Plant"(it's a carnivorous plant) Ihave
some questions. I am feeding it worms-1 about every 2 weeks-is this good
for the plant? How often should it be watered?
I have gone through 2 vfts. I kept them in water, and
planted in sphagnum peat. I fed it hamburger meat, and it
eventually rotted and died. If anyone has any tips on the Purple Pitcher
or Vft please email me.
