Hi KS,

this is the first time I've read that stuff, and the replies back to me!
Wow. It's only a year late getting back to me....what the heck.

Yes, I'd love to forward the Singaporeans name over to my other colleagues
in Singapore. I've met Joseph Yeo already, and he has been BITTEN! Last time
I saw him we were rescuing N. rafflesianas off a water pipeline path (right
of way) near a golf course. I remember that day very well. That was the day
we trekked down to this one fabulous site that contained a beautiful N.
rafflesiana speciemen -- deep red with maroon splotches and pitchers
averaging over 14" in height ... and these were the lower pitchers! (I've
got photographs of this babe, with a pressed pitcher in my photo album : ) !
Anyways to make a long story short, we approached this site with eager
anticipation only to find 3/4 s of this plant had been hacked to bits!

Joseph collected a few of the dissected branches of the ground and brought
it home into his garden... (Singaporeans just stake the Nepenthes stems into
their yard and voila, it grows!!! Hell I was so envious of this until they
told me they'd do anything to grow Darlingtonia out of the ground the way I
do back in ol' B.C. ... it always seem the grass is always greener on the
other side.

I've made contact with our local consulate and government officials to get
the proper permits to collect these "weeds" cut down by overzealous workers.

So my quick answer to you KS is yes, I will forward the contacts over in
Singapore to these other fellows to follow through with a formation of the
ICPS affiliate in Singapore. Please allow me time to request permission from
my friends first. : )

I'd also appreciate it if you can also post some of my above chat onto the
CP Listserve. I know there are many lurkers out there in Singapore and
Malaysia who may be interested in this.

Please bear with me until I get an account that would permit to subscribe to
the CPlistserve.
