OK - Benomyl is the active ingredient of Benlate (it was a Dupont
chemical but others may make it now). It's not widely available
on the domestic market anymore (in the UK anyway), largely because
of resistance problems through over-use and probably inappropriate
use as well. Not sure about other countries though.

Just for the record, Benomyl has the chemical name.... wait for
it.... metyl 1-(butylcarbamoyl) benzimidazol-2-ylcarbamate =:-) so
now you know...........! (and no, I'm not a chemist:-))

If you really can't find any, you could try some of the other more
modern chemicals or even copper or sulphur based compounds
although you will have to be *very* cautious. I have used a copper
fungicide as a seed dressing to prevent damping-off on CP's before
but don't have the details anymore unfortunately :-(
