Cyanide blocks cytochrome c oxidase (respiratory chain) in mitochondria.

Plants do have mitochondria and cytochrome c oxidase. However, cyanide
insensitive respiration was described in plants (AFAIK not known in
animals). Still cyanide is not really a vitamin for plants.
