Greetings to all - I am about to try growing some CPs, and have a few
questions. To put matters in the proper perspective, I am experienced
in growing many types of plants - especially orchids, bromeliads, and
succulents - but have no experience in growing CPs. I've seen quite a
few in the wild; Sarracenia in Miss. and Alabama, and sundews north of
where I live (New Orleans). Bladderwort, apparently U. vulgaris, is
very common locally.

Question 1: I plan to grow pitchers and sundews in a small wading pool
or large dishpan, outdoors among some iris. I plan to drill several
small holes in the bottom to keep the water from getting stagnant and
will have live spagnum as the potting material if I can get it, dead New
Zealand sphagnum if I cannot. Any comments? I understand butterworts
need a drier soil, is that true?

Question two: From whom should I buy plants and seeds?

Question three: Does anyomne have a food theory on why the range of
Sarracenia does not extend into the Florida panhandle? Seems like
conditions should be ideal for them in that area, and Drosera has
colonized it.

Question 4: I am captivated by the photos I have seen of Cephalotus and
Heliamphora. As a novice, should I attempt to grow them/

Thanks in advance for any answers.
