I live in Tropical Northen Australia, and have been growing C.P for over 20
years, mainly Sarracenia and in latter years Nepenthes.
Nepenthes of course thrive up here, but growing Sarracenia is like hitting
yourself on the head with a lump of timber. If you don't mind cluttering up
your refrigerater each winter, it can be done.
One of our locals even refrigerates the soil that his Darligtonia grow in
just to keep them alive over our severe summers, such dedication.
In the bushland which surrounds where I live, we have seven species of
Drosera, Nepenthes mirabilis, Byblis liniflora, Aldrovanda and a few
Utricularia.
I'd like to mention our local C.P society if anyone is interested in joining.
Subs are $20.00(Aust) for overseas subscribers, which includes postage of
the newsletter. If you grow C.P in the Tropics, this society may be of help
to you.
