Slugs and CP

I am fairly new to CP, and I was shocked tonight to go out and see a
slug on my S. Flava. Not only was he not being eaten, but he had
inserted nearly the whole length of his body into a very narrow S.
Flava opening in order to eat a partly digested spider that was in the
Flava. When he was done, he simply crawled out backwards, none the worse
for it. The slug had also eaten the top cover leaf of the S. Flava.

I tried moving him over to my S. Purpurea, but he was able to
make his way around that without any ill effect as well.

Are slugs immune to effects of S. Flava and S. Purpurea? I noted that the
slug worked his way around the rim of the S. Purpurea before wandering out,
so apparently he liked something there.
