Dear Jan,

Thanks for clearing those questions for me ;-)

I can see your point, as there are a few species out there especially
various Nepenthes species that are of dubious hybrid origin (granted
alot are natural hybrids). It must get rather frustrating taxonomically
speaking! Still, a shame about Byblis hybrids. Maybe in the near
future other species will "pop-up". Afterall Australia is a big place!

>So far the only promising in vitro method in _Nepenthes_ is growing

Hypothetically, say a plant took three years to reach maturity when
sown/grown on conventional media, if the same seed is sown in vitro
and multiplied, do the resulting plants reach maturity any sooner?
Do the various plant growth regulators (cytokinins and auxins)in the
medium speed-up the growth process? Also, would you use just a plain
medium (ie no PGR's) for germination then transplant to a
multiplication medium (containing a cytokinin)or sow on the
multiplication medium initially?

Cheers,
