Splitting VFT's

Hello to all:

I have not responded to this list before, although I have received
many useful tips on specifics of CP growing from reading the messages.

I currently have questions on two subjects:

What is the technique for splitting multiple rosettes of VFT? Is it
better to cut them apart, pull them apart, etc. Some of the rosettes
appear to be producing the short leaf with minimal or no trap, and I
wonder if splitting them will change this.

My second question is in placing CP's in a preformed pond outdoors.
The pond has a "bog shelf" around the edge, and I'm wondering what
species might do well in that situation. I'm in the native range of
Darlingtonia, so I figured that might work.
