Great trip to see CP

I recently returned from Cumbria, where I had the pleasure to see both
D.rotundifolia and P.vulgaris in their natural habitat. It is the first time
that I have visited CP in their habitat, and it really was a sight to
behold!! The P.vulgaris was dotted around in clumps of three to five, and
was quite often almost submerged by small streamlets. The most impressive
specimens that I saw were on the slope on the bank of the river Rothay,
which were in full flower. Some of them got as large as 6-7" in diameter.
Although these plants looked like P.vulgaris, and certainly the flowers did,
they do not display the yellow tips on the leaves as I have heard described.
However, the most spectacular were the sundews. I had stopped off at
a point, where I thought I had discovered a bog. When I discovered that it
was miles away, I turned back, only to discover that I had stepped right in
a clump of D.rotundifolia. They were quite small (1-2" diameter rosette),
but once I'd seen this clump, I saw them all. There were millions of them!!
literally, a carpet of sundews as far as the eye could see! It was
agonizingly painful, knowing that with every step that I took, I was
stepping on dozens of these little beauties!! If anyone would like to have
details of where to go to find these CP in the lake District, Cumbria, UK,
then just email me. I also have some pix to get developed.

In response to the message from Chris Teichreb about Dingley Home
and Garden, I have recieved their catalogue, and it is truly diverse.
Certainly, it supplies all that an amateur like me could ever want.

Cheers,
