Why is it so important to be first, that someone could get SO upset that they
missed out on an opportunity to own some additional plants? I'm competitive
in lots of things (work, some recreational activities) but plants, and
particularly carnivorous plants, I do for the sheer enjoyment of the pastime.

Several friends e-mailed me when Barry posted his offer asking if I was
taking part ... My reply? "Nope, I'd rather others with more space and time
and skill get them, and perhaps someday I can get a division or some seed if
things work out"

To wit: Have accumulated some nice and interesting plants in my own
collection, but don't have space for the third D. binata or aliciae, or the
Nepenthes hybrid, or even the B. reducta ... so I'm taking them with me to
the Eastern CP convention to find (hopefully) good homes. (Now before I get
flamed for mentioning such plants on the list, I've disappointed people
before when I've mentioned plants to give away/trade. I'm finding that
mailing plants is way too difficult, expensive and time-consuming unless one
does as Barry has ... COTB. However, I have successfully and equitably (I
hope) traded seeds with a number of people and would like to continue to do
that and trade/offer plants in person at swaps and meetings).

whew, now that my own guilt has been assuaged, I feel much better. Thanks for
the cathartic catalyst, Barry. And although Utrics aren't my favorite, I'd
buy from you any day, even if you are evil. <grin>
