I need some suggestions guys/gals... Around the middle of May my VFT's
(already drained from flowering) developed the gray mold fungus.. I
finally found some benomyl but it is only 25% WP. In fact, when I mixed
it with the appropriate amounts of water, the majority of the powder
would not even dissolve into solution. I later found some benomyl 50%WP
made by DuPont but it was $65.00 so I declined the idea for the time
being... after I treated the plants and soil once...2 weeks passed and
what appeared again.,?? you got it! so this time I went to drastic
measures.. I cut off all leaves/traps and sprayed entire plant (again)
with the fungicide mixture and changed peat soil. and again just
recently I discovered the mold!.. I believe that this mold began to
occur due to the increased temps. in my Apt. No matter where I place
the VFT setup and close the door to that room leaving it's AC vent wide
open, the mold always comes back... I have benn contemplating planting
the seed I got from these plants this fall around sept. or oct. and
letting them grow in the winter,, when it will be much easier to keep
the temps cooler.. has anybody tried reversing VFT dormancy/and growing
seasons? any luck? also.. I use an analog Therm/Barometer and the
humidity would reach 65-75% and sometimes the temps would get up to
78-83 degrees (F) Are these temp.'s too warm for my VFT..? Please Any
suggestions/help would be appreciated! Mike Mullaney
