I grow a wide variety of plants including vft, alpines and rock garden
plants among them. In most of the literature I have seen dormancy is induced
about any time the temperature drops below 50F. If that's the case and
recent posters have temperatures going down to 40F. then they are, in fact,
inducing dormancy even if the plants are not in a "cool, dark place."
