Terry, This method was described by Steve Clemensea in AU in an older
cpn issue. He collected the pollen in foil and put it in the frig. So
I collect the pollen from the male N. khasiana with a flat toothpick,
scraping it off onto the shiney side of the foil, folding it up and
taping shut being careful to identify it and the date of harvest on the
tape. When it came time for the female N. maxima to be receptive I took
the collected pollen out of the frig, let it warm up a bit and scoop out
the pollen with the same type of toothpick. I just then stuck it on the
stigma. I kept the different crosses separated with different colored
wire or string on the flower spike. I saw this technique done by some
veteran breeders, Leo Song and Tom Gibson. I've got the same female in
bloom again with about seven crosses line up for it with some of the
frozen pollen to try out. I'll let everyone know if it works. Truly,
