Hi Ken & Chris,
I grow my nepenthes under 50% shadecloth with no artificial heating
or cooling. Since I live in Townsville, Australia I don't need it. We
do ocassionally get night temperatures down to 6 deg celsius but this
is rare. Our maximums however get up to 38 deg celsius and even into
the 40's. My N. khasiana is the largest plant in my shadehouse and
actually presses against the roof. It does not suffer from any leaf
burn at all. Just recently it sent out a side shoot from every space
where a leaf had died, fourteen in all. It seems that maybe your
plants are being grown in soft conditions and are more susceptable to
leaf burn. By the way a video sounds a great idea.
