I have used 1/3 each fir bark, tree fern, charcoal with good results. I did
learn that N. khasiana does not like to be in a hanging basket under my
conditions. I believe it just stays too dry in a basket and it seems to
really hate this. It prefers a large deep plastic pot. I have also grow them
in pure rock wool (water absorbing type) and they have done well also, but
the former mix gave the best growth. Just had one male in flower but none of
the females (from cuttings) are large enough this year for flowers.
And as far as the recent rash of cat stories, I have had cats all my life and
have two now, but I can't resist the famous Monty Python joke:
1st woman to 2nd woman: "Why were you 4 hours late picking me up for
work this morning?"
2nd woman, "I'm sorry, I had to bury the cat."
1st woman, "FOUR HOURS to bury the cat!?"
2nd woman, "It wouldn'd hold still."
Sorry,
Cliff
