Whenever creating a small misting or irrigation system you might
want to steer clear of automitive windsheild washer fluid pumps. I
have found that these are in general built poorly and break down alot.
A better pump would bee one of the submersible "fish pond" pumps.
They typically are an AC induction motor with one moving part. They
are inert and whisper quiet. Over here in the US there is a supplier
named BECKET that makes pumps from little 20 GPH mini-pumps to big 1/2
horsepower ones. I am sure there are many other manufactures around
also.
When running the pump from a timer you should probably use an
ELECTRONIC timer. The mechanical ones tend to wear out and make a
buzzing sound.
