Perhaps but these seeds came from a single red plant (clump) that's growing
in a nursery. It was growing next to an S. leucophylla but this seedling
plant looks very purpurea-ish so I don't think they hybridized. I think the
S. pupurea got selfed (can they do that?). Or maybe this clump of plants is
actually two plants. In any case if this guy grows up to be an all-green
I'll gladly trade it for a nice red one, I much prefer them personally!

I'm a little wary of frying it in the heat. We're in the hottest part of
the summer now (90+ every day) and since the plant is so small I'm afraid
the root system isn't developed enough to take up enough water to
compensate. Am I being to cautious? This plant is about 1.0 to 1.5 cm
across (from the end of one pitcher to another).
