I have two darlingtonia's 'growing'. They are both doing poorly. One is
green, but all new growth is rather frail and the ends turn brown rather
quickly. The other is completely dried out, no new growth in a while, with
a white substance covering some of the plant. I fear it may be dead but I
know these plants are pretty tough so I dont want to give up yet. Can anyone
help. Also I have 3 drosera (2 rotundifolia, 1 madagascarensis) that are
doing fairly well, but they dont appear to be producing any mucilage, either
that or theres not enough humidity to produce the 'glistening' effect. All
my plants are in a 30 gallon terriarium. Light is produced by two 20 watt
bulbs going about 16 hours a day. Soil is about %30 sand, %70 percent peat.
I have dead sphagnum that I cover all soil with and keep moist by spritzing
it whenever necessary. The soil is about 6 inches deep and the terriarum
always has about of inch of water in the bottom to promote humidity. All
help is appreciated.
