Drosera and Safers

Once again the thrips were attacking my D. alicia's and I tried a
different tack. I placed the pot in a two gal. bucket shot 7 or 8 squirts of
Safers insecticidal soap into the water as it was filling up, and soaked
the pot for about 6 hours. Two days later the leaves have recovered and have
a healthy secretion of mucilage. And the thrips are dead.
The very weak application helped to drown the thrips much faster than
plain water without damaging the plants.
Happy growing,
