I have had great success creating outdoor bogs using kiddie wading pools
(the bigger the better). you can sink them to the rim if ou want (in
outdoor soil), or just leave them freestanding. I left mine freestanding
so in case I needed to I could cut drainage holes a couple of inches from
the top. as i recall, i never had to do this. you should probably start
by putting a couple of incehs (366) of coarse gravel in the bottom. then
I filled it with peat/sand mix & topped off with long fiber sphag or
whatever the particular species needed around its roots. I imagine that
they'd have to be replaced every few years as the peat began to decay.
these worked very well for me some years ago in western north carolina,
including overwintering for all species of sarracenia & lotsa other stuff.
