Dear Jan,

My name is Thomas Hayes......

Darn near 100%.... I crossed the mother plant of D. intermedia (pine
barrens) with pollen from D. rotundifolia (Bloomsburg, PA - USA) and most
of the seedlings came out as pure D. intermedia..... Due to selfing, BUT one
of the resulting seedlings has the characteristics of both plants. As Dave
said, it is about 4 1/2 inches across and is quite red. (the Bloomsburg
Rotundifolia are mostly red) It is still growing even though the D.
intermedia are dormant, again presumably from the D. rotundifolia, which is
also still growing. GREAT plant overall and I have started leaf
cuttings..... I will be taking a photo of it today.
