Yes, I guess that is best, but just like the main bud I don't think
the gemmae would notice one way or the other if you either planted
them now, or collected and stored them through the Winter, or just
left them where they are until Spring. If you do the latter, them
just don't leave it too late or they'll be swamped by the leaves from
the main bud.
