This is normal for such this plant. Pauciflora is in the same group as
cistiflora, alba and esterhuizen and trinervia. THey behave much like the
australien touberous drosera and require a summer dormancy for their well
being.

Yes, this is true for even D. capensis and D. aliciae. Though the plants you
mentioned above at least the D. regia grows in places that has a cool
seabreaze. At least I thinkI have heard this somewhere.
