Hi Folks,

When I read the interesting article about the 'Registration' of D. m.
'Royal Red' in the latest issue of CPN, I did not really know if I
should weep or laugh.

I think it is rediculous to take P.V.R.s on species (and on any other
living organisms). Where are we getting to?? (that is the weeping part)

As far as the laughing part. I do not agree with Colin that whoever
wants to sell, trade, swap etc. a 'red' VFT will now have to prove that
it is not the same as 'Royal Red'. To the contrary, it is 'Exotica
Plants' who will have to take 'whoever' to court, and prove that the
plant sold, traded, swapped, etc. is identical with their [sic] 'Royal
Red', and I am willing to predict that any such case will be thrown out
of said court.

To 'Exotica Plants' and all those who want to take out a PVR on a
cultivar of a species (or any living organism), I would like to say:

stop that nonsense!

Happy CPing
Guido
