Dear Mike,

as someone who travels quite a lot in North America (I will be there
again for 5 weeks in January and February) I at first got upset with
the banks over there. I remember that in 1974, a bank in San
Francisco would not even let me exchange _cash_ without an American
having an account at that bank! In the mean time I got used to it and
just smile.

I cant advise you to get a European Bank account as it would not be
worth it for this transaction, so I will try to help you otherwise: I
remember that Mr. Chan of Natural History Publications sent me
confirmation of payment in US $. And I assume that Canadian Banks
would be able to supply that. I paid a
total of RM [yes my bank gave me a check in that currency] 143.70
wich was RM 80.00 for the book and RM 63.70 for airmail etc.

That is the equivalent of about 66 to 67 US. I do not know whether
they take Credit Cards. I suggest the easiest thing to do is to send
them a fax. The No. is + 88 240768. Mr. Chan can tell you how the
deed is best done.

And by the way, _Yes_ the book is worth having.
Cheers

Guido
