controlling algae for aquatic CP

Someone was asking about how to control algae when growing
aquatic CP.

I grow Aldrovanda, U. gibba, U. purpurea, U. floridana in the
following fashion.

I soak dead long-fiber sphagnum in reverse osmosis purified water
for 10 days. By this time, the sphagnum sinks beneath the water's
surface. The aquatic CP are added to the water/sphagnum mix and
away they go. Any algae growth is minimal. The long-fiber
sphagnum represents about 20% of the volume of the water/sphagnum
mix. I keep my aquatic CP outside in a Rubbermaid dish pan. They
get several hours of unfiltered afternoon sun.

Does anybody know when and where the next Bay Area Carnivorous Plant
Society meeting is to be held?
